
Reece Monaco – News Director
Reece has worked in the radio and television business for 15 years, the last 10 at KFBC and the Cowboy State News Network, previously serving as the Sports Director. Reece is one of the pre-game hosts on the Cowboy Sports Network football broadcasts, and has been the voice of the Wyoming Cowgirls Basketball team since 2001. Reece has won numerous broadcasting awards, including the “Associated Press – Best Sports” for the past six years. He and his wife Stephanie live in Cheyenne and have four children.
Keith Kelley – Sports Director
Keith has been with the Cowboy State News Network since 2003. He was awarded Sportscaster of the Year by the National Association of Sportsbroadcasters and Sportswriters in 2008 and won best play-by-play from the Wyoming Association of Broadcasters in 2006. Keith has a bachelor’s degree from the school of Journalism and Broadcasting at Oklahoma State University. He began his broadcasting career by spending two years as the News and Sports Director in Chadron, Nebraska.
Mick Birge – News Reporter
A long-time broadcasting veteran, Mick returns to Wyoming for the second time in his career, and according to Mick, his last. He has won numerous awards for his work in both radio and television over the years, including the Society of Professional Journalists award for best television play-by-play, while calling games for the University of Evansville in Indiana. Mick is a 1982 graduate of Franklin College of Indiana where he lettered in both football and baseball. He and his wife Starlene have been married nearly 20 years and have three children. They live in Laramie.
JD Harris – Program Director
JD Harris is a Nebraska native who has been in Wyoming for 16 years. A broadcast veteran of 25+ years, JD has been at KFBC and the Cowboy State News Network for the past 9 years. He has worked at stations in Nebraska, South Dakota, Ohio, Iowa and overseas in Armed Forces Radio while serving in the Air Force. The father of 3, JD has two sons in the Military, Trevor, in the Army and an Iraq War Veteran, Matt in the Marine Corp in Virginia, and daughter Kailie a student at the University of Wyoming. He resides in Cheyenne with his wife, Laura.
Ty Stockton – The Great Outdoors
Ty has been the outdoors editor at the Wyoming Tribune-Eagle, the editor of Wyoming Wildlife News and the associate editor of Wyoming Wildlife Magazine. His desire to be outdoors led him to a degree in zoology at the University of Wyoming. An interest in writing took him to Colorado State University, where he received a degree in journalism. The combination of his degrees, coupled with a boyhood living a stone’s throw from the Wind River, completely ruined him for any productive, meaningful indoor occupations. Ty lives in Cheyenne with his wife Amy and two sons, and the family can be found camping, hunting, fishing, hiking or following the rodeo trail any given weekend.
Stu Pierson – Rodeo Report
Born in Cheyenne and raised near Buford, Stu worked on a ranch as a kid and came to love the western lifestyle. He married his high school sweetheart, Jan, and lives north of Cheyenne with their four boys. Stu is the Field Marketing Manager for Taco John’s International and on weekends and vacations, covers rodeos for TV and radio stations all over the country, including the Cowboy State News Network.
